When I reached the street I saw a flag with 13 stars hanging on the house which made me think about the 13 colonies. Since I have never been there before it was amazing to learn about what she did in her life. Ross didn't own the house she rented it between 1752 and 1836. When I walked through the gate I saw another house far back. In the courtyard I saw this sculpture of cats which was so adorable and innovative. This statue was commissioned after the restoration of the house. After that I went down the stairs I saw a kitchen with pottery and herbs. Then I took the stairs up I saw a work shop where Betsy piled her trade as an upholsterer and later she gave up on furniture but continued sewing curtains, drapes and wall hanging. Then after that I visited Betsy's bedroom which had a nice fireplace. The lower level contained a gun inside a glass with some gunpowder and other gun accessories.
Betsy lived here with her husband and daughters and ran an upholstery business. By going through the house and reading through all the information I observed a lot of different aspects of Betsy's life. She was hard working and a devoted woman. She had seven daughters and lost two of her husband's. I also observed that how the interior of the house was so narrow and every room had its own charm and function. She did not own the house she was a rental there was 2 and half floors and nine rooms. She sewed the first flag, while living in this house she sewed American flags. I also observed that the stars in the flag were in circle so that no one colony is seen above the other, so that no colony looses their dignity. The building was very unique with at least one room on each floor with its own charm. The first floor room was used as workshop and showroom and almost every room had a fireplace.
