The history of Scotland Kingdom began on the year 844, with Kenneth who was the King of Scots.He was the one to claim the Picts's throne.King Duncan, who was overthrown by one of his generals called Macbeth, was the first ruler of the Kingdom.
Macbeth was in charge of ruling until he got murdered in the year of 1057 during a battle. Soon after, his son Malcom III was in charge of taking the throne. After that, Malcom III got married with an English princess called Margaret. She is considered as the one who brought the English culture to Scotland. The sons of Malcom and Margaret continued to follow her traditions. The Feudal System expanded through those lands and the Gaelic language was replaced by the English language. The reign of Alexander III was acknowledged as responsible for a considerably large part of the Scotland's glory.
Until the year 1057, when he was murdered, Macbeth ruled. In that year, the son of Duncan, Malcolm III took the throne. Malcolm married Margaret, who was an English princess in charge of bringing to Scotland the English court life. Her sons followed the England traditions and later on in Scotland it began to develop the Feudal System. The English language replaced the Gaelic. In view of all this, it is possible to consider Alexander's III reign as the one to give Scotland his major height.
France helped Scotland to battle against England. King James IV married another English princess. This one was called Margaret Tudor, but certainly that was not the end of war at all. He invaded England with the help of France, and then died in the Flodden Field battle in the year 1513. James V was also killed in battle at 1542, on Solway Firth. His daughter married a French prince.
French soldiers were drove out of Scotland with the help of Queen Elizabeth of England, the Scottish leaders resented French and Catholic Church influence. In 1560, the Scottish Parliament was influenced in order to create a National Protestant Church by John Knox.The Scotland Queen Mary, was forced to abdicate because of her religion, she was Catholic. She was executed by Queen Elizabeth back in 1587 after escaping and being imprisoned.
King James, the son of Mary Stuart was responsible for bringing the peace to Scotland.
